JAMMU : A fresh batch of 1,871 pilgrims today left for the holy Shri Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir from Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar base camp in this winter capital of the state.
“A batch comprising 1,404 males, 365 females, 27 children and 75 sadhus this morning left for the cave shrine from here in a convoy of 61 vehicles including 44 private and State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses and 17 light motor vehicles,” official spokesman here said.
He said the first bus left at around 0445 hrs and the last bus at 0505 hrs.
