REASI, July 26: Annual pilgrimage to the sacred Kounsar Nag Lake, traditionally held on the occasion of Nag Panchami, has been postponed due to adverse weather and deteriorated road conditions in the hilly and remote areas of Reasi district.
The yatra was scheduled to commence on July 27, with devotees planning to reach the holy lake by July 29 to take a ritual bath on Nag Panchami. However, continuous rainfall over the past few days has rendered the roads and trekking paths unsafe and unfit for travel.
In view of the safety concerns, the committee have decided to reschedule the pilgrimage. The revised dates for the yatra are now from August 7, with the ritual bath at the Kounsar Nag Lake planned for August 9, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
