JAMMU, Dec 28: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Home for the Aged & Infirm was held today at its premises, Ambphalla, Jammu.
Sanjeev Verma, Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu & Kashmir, was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Dinesh Gupta, Secretary and others present on the occasion paid rich tribute to the Late I D Soni, president of the Home, who left for his heavenly abode recently, and also to the departed inmates of the Home. This was followed by a formal welcome of the chief guest and all the Life Members, which was extended by Pankaj Gupta, a senior Life Member and presently Member Managing Committee.
Dr Dinesh apprised the House that in the absence of the president and the vice president, the meeting would be chaired by the senior most Member Prem Gupta, (Retd IGP.), past president and a patron of the Home. The agenda items were taken up one by one for discussions and approval.
The House unanimously confirmed the minutes of the last AGM held on December 29, 2024, followed by the presentation and approval of the annual report for the financial year 2024-25. The audited accounts for the financial year 2024-25 were also presented and approved. Members further approved the budget proposals for the year 2025-26 and the appointment of Auditors RC Gupta & Co. on the existing terms and conditions.
The AGM unanimously confirmed the decision of the Managing Committee regarding the Life Membership and Annual Membership Fee fixed at Rs 5,500 and Rs 2,000, respectively. Approval was also accorded for the establishment of a free Allopathic Dispensary and the restarting a free Physiotherapy Centre within the Home premises.
After the election process, all the members unanimously elected Pankaj Gupta as president and Dr Dinesh Gupta as secretary of the Home for a period of three years.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjeev Verma, appreciated the commendable humanitarian services being rendered by the Home for the welfare and dignity of senior citizens and assured continued support for such noble initiatives all the time He also appreciated sonors who have contributed a lot for providing all kind of basic necessities.
Pritam Chand, wardon who has been serving the Home for the last around 35 years his services were acknowledged by presenting him a citation together with a cheque of Rs. 11,000 by the chief guest and members of the Managing Committee.
