Annual Chitto Mata Yatra to start from July 7

KISHTWAR, June 23: The Annual pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Chitto Mata (Singhasan Mata)  nestled in mountainous Paddar  area  is going to start  from  July 7.
Giving the details about the Yatra schedule at a press Conference,   Manohar Lal, Convenor, Singhasan Mata Sevak Sanstha said the holy pilgrimage would start from Chishoti Padder on   July 7 with a halt at Leondi.
“On second day, July 8, the pilgrims would proceed for onward journey to Sohal for an overnight stay there. The next day the pilgrims would proceed to the main destination – the holy shrine of Chitto Mata/ Singhasan Mata” he added.
He said that at the main shrine the devotees would perform Havan, Pujan and Kirtan on   July 10 and then the next day they will   return back and stay in Gulabgarh for night. The yatries will proceed back to Chishoti from Gulabgarh on   July 12.
He said that the district administration has made all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of the Pilgrimage.
He said that on the arrival of Yatra to the final destination Chitto Dham, the local people in traditional dress will greet the holy mace (Charri Mubarak) amid devotional songs and chanting   sermons in local Padri language.
The journey to the holy shrine of Chitto Mata( Singhasan Mata) shrine is about 330 Km from Jammu City, he said and added sufficient number of passenger Buses and Taxis remain available from Jammu to Kishtwar and Padder and from Gulabgarh Padder to Sohl which is about 12 Km.
