JAMMU, June 25: Amar Khastriya Rajput Sabha today convened a meeting of prominent citizens to review the situation that has arisen due to the written commitment given by two Cabinet Ministers on June 18.
The meeting was chaired by the president of the Sabha Narain Singh. Prominent, among others, who participated in the meeting included chairman of the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC) and president of JKHC Bar Association Abhinav Sharma, several business leaders, student leaders and ACC members.
During the meeting, it was stressed that all the pro-Jammu forces should fan across the region to mobilize public opinion on the issue so that everyone understands why the neglected Jammu region needed a modern medical institute like All-India Institute of Medical Sciences.
Addressing the participants, Narain Singh said that Jammu province didn’t have a single modern and well-equipped Medical College and Hospital, adding “people of Jammu province are not so economically well off that they could go to places like Delhi for medical treatment”.
Advocate Abhinav Sharma also addressed the meeting and explained the circumstances under which the ACC entered into an agreement with the Cabinet Ministers.
