JAMMU, Mar 13: Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu today held a peaceful procession to commemorate International Al-Quds Day.
A peaceful and dignified procession was organized by Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu to commemorate Quds Day, witnessing remarkable unity and participation from both the Shia and Sunni communities. The event reflected a strong message of brotherhood, solidarity, and collective concern for the oppressed people of Palestine.
President, Anjuman-e-Imamia, Syed Amanat Ali Shah said that it’s a call for justice, peace, and the protection of the sacred Islamic sites in Jerusalem, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first Qibla of Muslims and one of Islam’s holiest places.
In his address he quoted the verse of holy Quran “And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and for those oppressed among men, women, and children…” (Qur’an 4:75). To remind the gathering that we should stand for the cause of Allah.
Sohail Kazmi a senior journalist also addressed the media and said that we have gathered here to pay homage to the martyrs of Gaza and this rally commemorates the Al-Quds day as this day is to show solidarity with the Palestinians and with the oppressed.
The procession began after congregational prayers and passed peacefully through the main streets, with participants maintaining discipline and unity. Volunteers ensured proper organization and smooth movement throughout the event.
Imam Jumma Maulana Syed Ali Badshah Naqvi in his address emphasized on the spiritual and humanitarian significance of Quds Day, which is observed annually on the last Friday of Ramadan. He reminded the participants that supporting the oppressed is a fundamental teaching of Islam.
Religious Scholar from Ladakh Sheikh Mohammadi also recalled the message of Ruhollah Khomeini, who initiated the observance of Quds Day, stating: “Quds Day is not only the day of Palestine, but the day of Islam and the day of the oppressed against the arrogant powers.
