JAMMU, July 5: In a function held here today Dr Anil Amla has been installed as Rotary Club Jammu president.
The installation of new president of the Club was conducted by the chief guest, Ashish Langer, Assistant Governor Rotary International District 3070 in the presence of Harish Gulati, Zonal Chairman.
Speaking on the occasion Langer informed the gathering regarding various activities and projects of Rotary International.
In his presidential address Dr Amla thanked club members for giving him opportunity to serve and pledged that the projects in hands will be further boosted in his tenure.
He assured to support the ‘Gift of Sight’ project during his tenure also.
Outgoing president of the club, Dr Navneet Gupta highlighted the achievement of the club and said that over 18 projects were completed during his tenure.
He informed the house that the club has managed cornea transplantation of over 30 blind persons under ‘Gift of Sight’ project by which the persons were able to see the world.
He also informed that many multispecialty mega medical camps were organised during his tenure and the patients were given free treatment and medicines.
Rotarians Dushayant Choudhary, Raman Sherpuri, Sushil Singhal, Harish Gulati and Harbans Singh also spoke on the occasion while Prem Shanker, Gaurav Vaid, Dr Navneet Gupta, Aman Sharma, Sanjay Sachdeva, Deepak Baboo, Adv Balbir Manhas, Rajat Singh, Kuldip Singh, Sat Pal Verma and other were also present.
