SRINAGAR, Aug 7: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today inaugurated a three-day workshop on “Development of Literary & Creative Skills in New Generation” at the Chinar Book Festival 2025.
The event, organised by the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), aimed at encouraging young minds to explore and express their creative talents.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Dr Andrabi said the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have immense potential and need the right platforms to express themselves positively.
“We need to nurture their talent and provide encouragement. The results can be amazing,” she said.
Dr Andrabi also congratulated NCPUL Director and Kashmir University’s Dean of Arts, Prof Ainaz Mohammed Sheikh, for organising the workshop.
She said that after years of unrest, the younger generation needs such festivals and events to emerge from the shadows of suppression.
“These platforms help them speak confidently and creatively,” she added.
