Amit mentions technology as best saviour during FCS&CA review meeting

JAMMU, Feb 4: Amit Sharma, Director Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu today chaired a comprehensive review-cum-work and performance related meeting of all districts of Jammu Division, Trade & Stores, Mills, Food & Rationing along with pending Legal Cases & several related issues of FCS&CA department.
The officers who attended the meeting included Pawan Kumar, Joint Director Administration, Rashim Deepika, Chief Accounts Officer, Gurneet Kour, Deputy Director Planning, Joginder Jasrotia, Deputy Director Supplies, Kulraj Singh, Deputy Director Food & Rationing and all Assistant Directors of Division including AD Mills and AD Trade & Stores.
The major focus of Director FCS&CA Amit Sharma was to use technology as the best saviour for department by ensuring 100% Aadhaar linking of beneficiaries along with usage of ePOS machines for conduct of transactions. He also emphatically mentioned that Supply Chain Management should be fully implemented in FCS&CA Department so that loss due to pilferage, theft and other human errors is minimized.
Amit was very categorical in mentioning that strict penal action shall be taken against all such defaulting officials of the department who would be found guilty in such cases as these ration supplies under NFSA are purely meant for PHH/BPL/AAY population. He maintained that total discipline & vigil should be maintained in distribution of PDS Kerosene Oil amongst the real needy and deserving souls of the State.
Apart from this, all Assistant Directors were directed by Director Amit Sharma to submit various reports in a time bound manner and take lead in conducting checks in the markets especially regarding essential commodities falling under the ambit of FCS&CA Department. He mentioned that Assistant Directors should adhere to the timelines mentioned in PDS Calendar and make all efforts to clear pendency in Legal matters which have been lingering on for years together for one reason or the other.
Assistant Directors of various districts participated actively in the meeting and few decisions were taken to streamline the functioning of FCS&CA department in entire Jammu division.
