JAMMU, Apr 2: While emphasizing on safe and secure IT practices leading to a silent e-Governance in the making for J&K, Amit Sharma, Special Secretary, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department, who is an e-Governance expert, mentioned about many related aspects of e-Gov for J&K in recently held Secure IT 2015 Summit at New Delhi.
Amit specifically talked about challenges and external threats in Securing Big Data in J&K, especially in the wake of disturbed atmosphere due to security issues, natural calamities, etc. The instances of sometimes banning social networking sites, email services, SMS services, verification and authentication of big data and verification of IP addresses in the State were also shared and deliberated upon.
Special Secretary Amit Sharma also hoped that this inevitable automation of big data with data cleansing exercises and linking-up with UIDs such as Aadhaar number, creation of ePRC, etc., conduct of data de-duplication exercises, setting-up of State Data Centres, Data Recovery Centres, etc. so as to meet unforeseen exigencies arising out of natural calamities or due to manmade disasters should always be the top priority issues for introducing a safe and secure e-Governance regime in the state.
The organizers honoured Special Secretary Amit Sharma for his valuable insights and for enriching the knowledge of august audience about specific safety and security related issues related of J&K in e-Governance era of the present times.
Other speakers who joined Amit Sharma in the Panel Discussion included officers from Ministry of Defence, Symantec Securities, and Central Government departments.
Amit also requested the organizers to conduct a similar kind of awareness workshop/ seminar in J&K.
