JAMMU, Apr 27: In view of growing Covid crisis, the 400th Parkash Parv of Guru Tegh Bahadur will be celebrated at low profile this year across Jammu.
Speaking to the media-persons here today, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu members led by president, Jagjeet Singh and general secretary, Fateh Singh disclosed that in the wake of the surge in Covid cases in Jammu, the DGPC has decided to celebrate 400th Parkash Diwas (Birth anniversary ) of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaja at low profile on May Ist, 2021 in Gurdwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Chand Nagar (Lower Gumat), Jammu from 10 am to 1 pm only.
They said entire Sikh community across the world and particularly SGPC Amritsar and DSGMC (Delhi) had also planned grand Gurmat Samagams ( Religious gatherings) and other programmes dedicated to Guru Tegh Bahadur who had sacrificed his life for the cause of humanity, but this year, all such programmes are also being curtailed due to Covid guidelines.
The DGPC Jammu also, following SOPs issued by the Government and for the safety of the Sangat, has decided to curtail or cancel many programmes, in connection with the Prakash Parv of the Great Guru. All the people visiting the Gurdwaras have been asked to follow the SOPs, wear masks and keep distance while offering prayers and avoid making crowd at the religious places while cooperating with the Administration , they added.
Prominent among others who accompanied included, Jathedar Mohinder Singh, Avtar Singh Khalsa, Manmohan Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Ramneek Singh, Mohinder Singh and others.
