JAMMU, Nov 3: A delegation of All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) called on Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Ch Zulfkar here today and apprised him of the hardships being faced by Kashmiri migrants due to failure of the department to supply ration for last four months to them.
The delegation was led by Desh Rattan Pandita president of the Committee. It demanded that the ration be released to all camps and non camps including the quota of sugar and flour along with that of balance months be released immediately so that the migrants putting up in various camp and non camp localities are not made to suffer any more.
It also demanded that the Minister should convene the meeting of CAPD officers and store keepers with AMCCC representatives and ration be supplied on first week of every month and the migrant employees be also given the ration on APL rates as was done earlier.
They also appealed the Minister to visit the ration depots in migrant camps and non camp areas to ascertain the situation for himself.
The Minister informed the delegation that the Relief Organization has deposited the money with the Department upto March next year and the ration will be supplied within two days in all camps and non camp localities.
The other members of the delegation included Bittu Ji Bhat, senior vice president of the organization, Makhan Lal Pandita, M L Munshi, Bhupinder Koul etc.
