JAMMU, Feb 3: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has expressed serious concern over the callousness of the State and Central Government towards the displaced Pandits leading an exiled life for last three decades.
Talking to reporters here today president of the Committee, Desh Rattan Pandita said that it is shameful that the Government of India has failed in last three decades in rehabilitating the Hindu minorities of Valley in their homeland in Kashmir.
H said the Government is soft towards the stone pelters and separatists who have brought a horror to the State in last three decades but it has no concrete policy for the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits who were targeted by the terrorists and anti India elements in Kashmir for being patriots and nationalists to the core.
Desh Rattan demanded that the problems of the displaced Pandits from Valley be settled and immediate steps b taken for the rehabilitation of the community in its homeland in Valley.
He also demanded that a special employment package be announced for the community youth in Central Government departments and the over-aged youth be provided the adequate compensation so that they can start their own business ventures.
Highlighting the problems of relief holders he demanded enhancement of cash relief as on Rs 10,000 it is very difficult to feed a family of four members in these tough days. Rattan said that the Kashmiri Pandits are main stakeholders of Kashmir and the Government can’t ignore them in any dialogue process held on Kashmir.
He also demanded the community be paid compensation for the gutted and damaged houses and shops, orchards and agriculture land over the years.
