JAMMU, Dec 20: BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar today organised a Janta Durbar at Purkhoo camp to have an on spot study of problems and to find out ways and means for their redressal.
MLC was also accompanied by the officials of the Relief Commissionerate which included Parerna Raina Assistant Commissioner Relief and the concerned Zonal officers and their staff
MLC was appraised about the lot of problems being faced by the people living in Purkhoo camp which were mainly related to shortage of fresh water supply, Seepage problems in buildings, shortcomings in supply of ration mainly the shortage of sugar, damaged electric transformers and many more issues for which MLC gave on the spot instructions to the authorities that fresh water supply connections should be installed in the camp within a week’s time and assured the people who had gathered in large numbers that he will make sure that the supply of ration and sugar is done in proper manner by taking up the issue with CAPD Minister during the coming week
MLC along with the officials and the residents of the camp visited the entire colony and took note of the damage of the buildings and passed on the instructions to the Relief Organisation to start the renovation work of the buildings on priority for which the tenders have already been floated
Ambardar while interacting with the residents of camp said that BJP has resolved that they will make every necessary effort to ensure that all the problems of the displaced people are addressed in time bound manner and that is the reason he has taken an initiative to hold “Janta Durbar ” in each and every camp and all other non camp localities where displaced community reside and have already conducted one Janta Durbar in Buta Nagar camp and Chinore colony
Amongst others present on the occasion were T N Bhat president BJP displaced unit ,Mandal Presidents Vijay Raina,Makhan Lal ,Sunil Bhat and president of Purkhoo Camp Welfare Committee Daya Krishan and secretary Bansi Lal Razdan
