SRINAGAR, June 13: Senior National Conference (NC) leader, Mian Altaf Ahmed has expressed disappointment over the dilapidated condition of vital roads in Ganderbal and alleged non-seriousness of the Government to resume work on important bridges on nallah Sindh in Kangan constituency.
In a handout, Mian Altaf said the work on Tangchahter Bridge over nallah Sindh in Kangan, which connects a dozen villages with tehsil headquarters, has been stopped causing inconvenience to the locals.
He said that a temporary foot bridge on nallah Sindh was washed away by flash floods a day before leaving the area disconnected.
The NC leader also said that Government should resume construction work on the bridge so that the people of the area may get permanent connectivity.
He said that a temporary foot bridge should be constructed till the completion of main bridge.
Altaf informed that construction work of Akhal Bridge was going on at snail pace and has been left mid way.
He further said that roads including Nagbal-Beehama, Beehama-Wayil, Kangan-Chahtergul and Akhal- Hariganiwan via Hayan Palpora are in dilapidated condition causing inconvenience to the people.
