JAMMU, Apr 30: Joint Action Committee of SC/ST/OBC organizations has said that all the people must watch movie `Phule’, which was released on April 23.
While addressing the media person, Sham Lal Basson, president All J&K Dalit Chetna Manch and Ex- Councillor said that Phule film is based on the lives of Jyotirao Phule and Savitri Bai Phule. The film stars are Pratik Gandhi and Patralekha. The film was scheduled to release on 11 April 2025 (Birth Anniversary of Jyoti Rao Phule ) but got postponed to April 25, 2025. It was finally released on April 27, 2025 at Wave Mall, Jammu. The film was directed and written by Anant Mahadeven.
It is a proud moment for all Bahujans and women. The Phule couple opened the country’s first girls school on January Ist, 1848 at Bhidewada, Pune in Maharashtra which is also known as Kranti Shala. This act was met with strong opposition. Savitri Bai Phule faced extreme harassment, enduring attacks with stones and cow dung Yet, this ostracism did not dete the couple from their mission.
Basson appealed the public in general and Bahujan Samaj in particular to watch this film. The film is worth watching.
Sunita Bangotra, Principal Savitri Bai Phule Modern School Bari Brahmana and president Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Sangathan appealed to all women and particularly students to watch a Phule movie which is worth watching.
About 177 years ago when the country’s first Girls school was established. Today women are not less than men in any field. They are DM, CM, PM. It is because of education. The University of Pune is named Savitri Bai Phule University. Many institutions and schemes have been started in the name of the Phule couple. All of us know that Phule couple deserves the Bharat Ratna Award. The Govt. of India should consider this demand.
