All J&K Megh Sabha elects new office bearers across Jammu province

JAMMU, Feb 16: In a significant gathering at Sadgur Kabir Dham Headquarters, Old Rehari (Jammu), the All J&K Megh Sabha held elections for its office bearers under the chairmanship of B D Bhagat. The event witnessed a large turnout from across Jammu province, including representatives from Jammu, Kathua, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar and other districts.
During the elections, Narinder Datt was re-elected as the president of All J&K Megh Sabha while Ramesh Chander Mangotra and Amar Nath Bhagat retained their positions as general secretary and cashier, respectively.
Further, in the presence of the Chairman of the Advisory Board and other distinguished personalities of the Megh community, the newly elected president announced the nomination of the State body. Rajinder Bhagat and Dr Jeet Bazala were appointed as vice presidents, Ashok Kumar as store keeper and Narinder Singh as organizing secretary and Param Veer, Swarna Bhagat, Sat Pal Bhagat and Surjit Bhagat were inducted as members.
For the Doda district unit, Rakesh Kumar Shivan was appointed as president, with Kuldeep Kumar as general secretary, Mohan Lal Bhagat as cashier, Baldev Singh as organizing secretary and Jernal Singh as joint secretary. Swami Raj Bhagat was assigned the responsibility for Ramban/Batote, while Daulat Ram was nominated as president of the Kishtwar unit.
The Sabha also formed its Women Wing in Jammu, with Swarna Bhagat as president, Neelam Bhagat as vice president, Chanchal Dogra as city president and Rashmi Devi and Veena Devi as vice presidents of the City Wing.
In the City Wing Jammu, Parmveer Bhagat was appointed as city president, with Anil Kumar (Kala) as vice president. Additionally, Ravi Kant Bhagat was nominated as State coordinator while Surjit Bhagat was appointed as Chenab Valley coordinator.
For the Pouni Chak/Gho Manhasa unit, Vishal Bhagat was named president, along with Som Nath as cashier and Mohan Lal Bhagat as general secretary. In Toph Sherkhania, Anil Bhagat was appointed as president. Similarly, for Mohalla Paharian, Manoj Bhagat was nominated as president, with Surinder Bhagat as general secretary and Rakesh Bhagat as coordinator.
Ashok Kumar was named president for Bhalwal (Gaink Panchayat), while the Chinore unit saw the appointment of Vinod Kumar as president, Balbir Bhagat as vice president, Rishi Kumar as general secretary and Under Jeet Bhagat as cashier. Additionally, Pritam Chand, Sukhdev Kumar and Naresh Chopra were inducted as members, with Krishan Lal as coordinator. Devraj Bhagat was nominated as president of the Rajpura unit.
