DODA, Dec 8: A protest rally was organised here at district headquarters today by the members of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Doda unit.
The rally was organized under the banner of federation led by its president Amar Nath Bhagat to protest against the recent High Court decision regarding reservation to the members of SC, ST, OBC and other reserved categories in promotions.
Hundered of activists of the federation participated in the protest and took out a rally from Dak Bangalow, Doda to the office of the Deputy Commis-sioner, Doda and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through Deputy Commissioner.
Addressing the gatherings, district president of the federation alleged that the State Government has failed to protect the Constitutional right of reservation in promotion to the down trodden and weaker sections of the society.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Ram Lal Bhagat, Baldev Raj Bhagat, Swami Raj Bhagat, Kuldeep Kumar, Surjeet Singh, Krishan Lal, Prem Nath, Santosh Bhagat and Sanjeet Kumar.
