*JKHCBAJ to approach CM, CJ before coercive steps

JAMMU, Nov 29: In a historic show of solidarity, a conference of all Bar Associations of Jammu Province was convened today by the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ) under the chairmanship of its President Senior Advocate Nirmal K Kotwal.

The conference primarily focused on the recently enacted New Tenancy Act and its far-reaching implications on the people of the region and legal fraternity, besides deliberating upon various other pressing issues concerning the Bar Associations.
After detailed deliberations, it was unanimously resolved that the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu shall, in the first instance, approach the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and thereafter the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh before any coercive measures are contemplated on the issue.
Office Bearers of the Samba Bar Association, Udhampur Bar Association, Akhnoor Bar Association, Tax Bar Association and Young Lawyers Association attended the conference physically, while other Bar Associations from across Jammu Province participated virtually.
In a strong display of unity, all participating Bar Associations unanimously endorsed and resolved to extend complete and unconditional support to the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu in all its future decisions and actions concerning the New Tenancy Act and other matters affecting the legal community and the citizens of the region.
Office bearers of the JKHCBAJ including Vice President Baldev Singh, General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal, expressed their sincere gratitude to all the Bar Associations for their faith and trust in J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu.
Office Bearers of various Bar Associations who attended the conference included Ajay Singh Charak, Karan Sharma, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Akash Kumar, Abhishek Magotra, Parveen Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Gourav Arora, Amandeep Sharma, Bhagirath Singh, Saksham Gupta, Hitesh Koul and Sushil Kumar.
The conference concluded with a firm commitment to safeguard the rule of law and protect the interests of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
