JAMMU, Oct 11: Dussehra festival also known as Vijaydashami will be celebrated tomorrow in Parade Ground here in which MP Jugal Kishore Sharma from Jammu, Reasi Lok Saba constituency will be the chief guest. Besides Rajindra Sharma former Mayor and other members of district administration will also participate in the celebrations.
This was stated by Parshotam Dadhichi, president, Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) while talking to reporters here, today. He appealed the public to take their place in the Parade Ground by 4-30 pm sharp.
The Ramrath from Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha Natak Samaj Deewan Mandir and Shri Raghunath Ji Mandir Rath will reach the venue after performing Puja. He said all arrangements are in place for tomorrow’s function.
He said the effigies of demon king Ravan, his son Meghnath, brother Kumbhkaran will be set ablaze before Sunset.
Dadhichi also warned to those who are unnecessarily criticising the Sanatan values of life i.e Hindu way of life for their selfish motives to learn from the fate of Ravan and Mahishasur.
He said Dussehra festival is celebrated throughout country and abroad every year to remind timeless belief that good will always triumph over evil. He said Bhagawaan Ram’s victory over demon King Ravan and Goddess Durga’s victory over Mahishasur reminds the mankind the victories of good over evil.
