JAMMU, Nov 27: A emergency meeting of All Kashmiri Migrants Committee Jammu was held with Minister for Revenue Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari along with Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner  Y.P Suman here today in which grievances related to Direct Benefit Scheme (DBT) Performa  introduced by the Government of India for All Kashmiri migrants was brought  under his notice by the president of the Committee Nazir Ahmad Lone.
The delegation said that the new Performa has been introduced in DBT Scheme for All Kashmiri migrants in which it is mandatory for a migrant to produce Aadhar Card / PAN Card / cancelled cheque.  It is unfortunate that mostly Kashmiri migrants are old aged widows and Gujjar Bakerwals who are totally illiterate. They neither possess PAN Card / Aadhar Card as in most cases it is still under process.
It said so far as the submission of cheques are concerned, the Kashmiri migrants mostly use Bank Passbooks for withdrawals. Being illiterate and using thumb impressions, they do not use cheque books.
It demanded that instead of the these formalities, Voter Card/ Bank Pass books / ration cards / driving license may be submitted for new DBT Performa.
That there is a Kashmiri custom i.e Khana Nasheen Damad / Khana Nasheen Dukhter which is still prevalent in Kashmiri Muslim Society and a large number of Kashmiri Muslim migrants have their father in laws name in their ration cards instead of their fathers name. Whereas in Aadhar Cards there is no column in Father-in-law’s name.
The delegation further demanded that date for the submission of this new performa under DBT Scheme till March 2017.
Moreover amnesty be made in performa of the Kashmiri migrant families where mistakes or irregularities are found and name correction be done accordingly.
Besides the age limit of the kids for their inclusion in their respective ration cards may be enhanced from existing four years to 12 years and the cash assistance be enhanced from Rs10, 000 to Rs 20,000 because of market position.
Gulzar Ahmad Dar, Ch. Akbar, Abdul Qayoom, Showket Ahmed, Mohd Amin, Pirzada Abdul Hamid, Ghulam Rasool etc were the other members of delegation.
