Akhtar sanctions Rs 10 lakh for blood bank in DH Bandipur

SRINAGAR, Oct 18: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief spokesperson and leader of the party in the Legislative Council, Naeem Akhtar  has sanctioned an amount of Rs 10 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for purchase of equipment by the District Hospital, Bandipur.
The equipment is needed for establishing a blood bank in that hospital.
In a statement, Akhtar said the patients needing blood transfusion in Bandipur district which includes the far-off areas of Gurez as well had to travel to Srinagar for the facility in absence of blood bank in Bandipur.
“I will try my best to equip Bandipur hospital with required medical equipments and facilities that would minimize the referral of patients to Srinagar,” Akhtar said.
The District Hospital, he said, will be strengthened to provide special treatment at the local level if PDP receives the mandate of the people in the next elections.
