JAMMU, May 17: All J&K Transport Welfare Association has urged the Transport Minister Satish Sharma to clear the bills of transporters on account of buses provided by them during the rally of Prime Minister Modi at AIIMS Vijaypur during 2019 and again PM’s rally at Palli during 2022.
A delegation of AJKTWA led by its Chairman Karan Singh Wazir met the Transport Minister Satish Sharma and raised the pending issues of the transporters. Wazir along with the members of the Association and transporters apprised the Minister regarding the ongoing condition of the transporters who are facing hardships with the prevailing situation in J&K UT which has been effected by tension between India and Pakistan.
Wazir demanded that the transporters are suffering from the financial burden and the source of money has completely choked as the Tourism sector which is directly linked with transport has come to a complete halt. Transporters are facing bank installments, passenger tax, token tax, insurance which are fixed costs to be paid at the time when their vehicles have come to a stand still.
