JAMMU, Mar 5: A delegation of All Jammu and Kashmir Transport Welfare Association (AJKTWA) led by its Chairman, Karan Singh Wazir met the newly appointed Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu, Jasmeet Singh and discussed various issues of the transporters with him.
Wazir, who was accompanied by president of the Association and heads of various Transport (Truck/Bus/ Mini-bus ) Unions apprised him of the persistent issues of the transporters that have not been addressed by the department and the long pendency which has made the transporters vulnerable.
RTO Jammu gave assurance that issues of the transporters will be addressed expeditiously. He also informed Wazir that the issues regarding the driving test trials and passing of vehicles have been taken into account and effectively after his joining the time period has been increased for trials to 6 days in a week from 3 and for passing it has been increased to 3 days from two. This has been done in accordance with making ease for the pubic and also clear the backlog as per the suggestion and advise of the Transport Minister, Satish Sharma and Transport Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan.
During the meeting RTO Jammu, Jasmeet Singh was also felicitated by the team members of AJKTWA including KS Wazir, Mohinder SIngh, Vijay Singh Chib, Kuldeep Singh, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Gurdeep SIngh, Ranjit Singh, Niranjan Singh, Deepak Sharma, Labh Singh, Vijay Dogra,Harasis Singh and others.
