JAMMU, Apr 22: Accusing National Conference (NC) and Congress coalition Government of turning a blind eye towards the brutal killings of Panchayat members at the hands of terrorists, All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) has reacted strongly over the recent killing of a Sarpanch and his son in Tral area of Awantipora.
While speaking in a meeting, Imtiyaz Afzal Beig, State general secretary of AJKPC expressed his solidarity with the family members of the martyr Panchayat members and also condemned the firing by the terrorists on Bashir Malik, a senior leader of AJKPC who escaped unhurt in the incident.
He urged the voters to poll maximum votes to defeat all the contesting candidates of the National Conference and Congress coalition for their criminal negligence in taking any concrete measure to save the lives of innocent Panchayat members.
Ghulam Hassan Punzoo, senior leader and spokesperson of AJKPC also denounced the attitude of the Government towards the plights of Panchayat members.
Punzoo said the Panchayat election in the State were held on non-party basis then why these greedy politicians use the Panchs and Sarpanchs as their pawns and expose them to the terror threats. The meeting was attended by Nasir Ahmad, Mohammad Shafi Mir and Ghulam Ahmad Soru.
