Kindly refer your write up (Dated 30/3/2016) regarding airports security cover in general and without the security of twin airports of Srinagar and Jammu in particular.In this connection,I am of the view that the security cover of Jammu airport is worse than Srinagar airport on the following counts i.e there is no proper place for parking of private cars as well as taxis.You will always find cars and taxis being parked on both sides of the road near the exit gate of airport.There is no system in vogue to check the vehicles so parked which involves high risk of security and any mishap can take place at any time thereby causing collateral damage to the men and material.The airport authorities have not bothered to make suitable parking place for such vehicles so far which is long pending demand from taxi drivers.This also causes hurdle in the free flow of traffic.
Neither the securities posts have been established in the southern part of the civil airport nor lighting arrangements have been made in this area which involves carrying passengers during daytime as well as during night flights in case of urgency.Therefore, the attention of the DG Security Civil Aviation,State Govt and DG Police J&K is invited to take cognizance of the prevailing situation and take immediate precautionary security measures on war footing to foil the designs of enemies and avert any untoward mishap.
