JAMMU, Sept 27: Castigating BJP Government at the Centre for discriminating Jammu in segregating funds for the new airports in twin capitals of the J&K UT, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) president, Uday Chib said that so-called saviour party of Jammu region has shown its true colours by giving a jolt to people of Jammu region in case of granting funds for newly announced airports.
Speaking at a meeting of prominent people in Raipur-Domana area, Uday Chib slammed the BJP leadership for startling prejudice shown towards Jammu region despite the fact that since its formation the BJP and its leaders are trumpeting against the discrimination with Jammu region but when they came to power they themselves backstabbed the people of their own strong bastion.
Uday lambasted the entire BJP brigade of Jammu region for remaining mum on the issue of brazen discrimination with Jammu in case of sanction of funds for new airports in the UT. He said that BJP betrayed the people of Jammu region by allowing such a lopsided decision whereby Rs 1500 crore has been sanctioned for Kashmir and mere Rs 650 crore for Jammu.
DCC Jammu Rural president, Hari Singh Chib said it is shameful that BJP leaders of Jammu and Kashmir are sitting like lame ducks and not uttering a single word over the discrimination with Jammu. He asked the workers to strengthen the Congress Party at ground level.
The meeting was organized by PYC president and Youth leaders Monika Sharma and Bupinder Singh former Sarpanch Upper Raipur and Kuljeet Singh Sarpanch Power Raipur.
Later, the participants raised the issues of sky-rocketing inflation, poor civic edifice, dearth of potable water and erratic power supply. They said that the Govt was making false promises on facilities but in reality the situation is abysmal as power cuts and shortage of water has made their life worse.
After listening to the plight of people, the senior Congress leaders assured to project their demands at the concerned quarters.
Som Nath Sharma senior Congress leader, Kuljeet Singh Sarpanch, Bupinder Singh former Sarpanch Raipur, Panch Sudesh Kumari, Gulam Ahmad, Kamal Singh, Randhir Singh, Bupinder Singh, Virender Mehta, Tarun Vaid, Dhanish and Master Rajinder Kumar were also present in the meeting.
