JAMMU, Nov 28: A delegation of the All India Registered Nurses Federation (AIRNF), J&K UT Committee, led by State President Vishav Sharma and General Secretary Priyanka Salaria, today met Rajya Sabha Member and BJP J&K UT President Sat Sharma at the BJP State office in Jammu.
The delegation submitted two key representations highlighting long-pending issues faced by nursing personnel across the Union Territory.
They expressed concern over the delay in finalizing the Service Recruitment Rules (SRRs) for staff of the five new Government Medical Colleges in Kathua, Baramulla, Anantnag, Doda, and Rajouri.
The SRRs, pending since 2020, have affected more than 3317 Non-Gazetted employees, leading to stagnation and slowing career progression.
The team also raised several long-standing demands of nursing staff, including rectification of pay scales, adoption of new nomenclature as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines, and the grant of various allowances such as nursing, dress, and risk allowance.
Sat Sharma assured the delegation that their concerns would be taken up at the appropriate forums for early resolution.
The AIRNF J&K UT Committee reiterated its commitment to continue working for the welfare and rights of nursing personnel in the region.
