MOSCOW, Oct 25 : Russian air defenses shot down 121 Ukrainian drones overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
“This past night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 121 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the drones were downed across multiple regions: 20 over Rostov, 19 over Volgograd, 17 over Bryansk, 12 over Kaluga, 11 over Smolensk, nine each over Belgorod and Moscow, eight each over Voronezh and Leningrad, two each over Novgorod, Ryazan, and Tambov, and one each over Tver and Tula.
Meanwhile, Kirill Dmitriev, Russian special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said the summit between Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will take place, but at a later date.
“The meeting between President Putin and President Trump will happen, but probably at a later date,” Dmitriev said in an interview with CNN.
He said the meeting would rather have been postponed than canceled.
“It needs to be well prepared by our diplomats,” Dmitriev said.
