JAMMU, Dec 20: Working Committee meeting of AIMCCC was held today at Jagti township under the chairmanship of B.K.Raina.
The agenda of the meeting was the problems of Kashmiri migrants and the Government’s failure in settling them over last 31 years. The meeting said the migrants are facing problems since the day when they were thrown out of Valley in 1989-90. Since then they have been demanding release of balance ex-gratia for gutted houses, ex-gratia for damaged houses with rain and snow. The meeting alleged the migrants are being discriminated on every front.
The meeting demanded restoration of encroached land of KPs in Valley, cancellation of Roshni Act, as it is fraudulent Act, the land grabbed under Roshni needs to be nationalized. It also demanded implementation of all Central Sponsored Schemes for KPs, compensation to migrant farmers, orchardists and over aged youth with due share in the budget, political empowerment of the community, solving of drinking water problem in Jagti township, allotment of shops to displaced people at Jagti, financial aid to patients with chronic ailments and accommodations to deserving people. The meeting warned to launch agitation in support of demands.
