JAMMU, Feb 10: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) held its Core Committee meeting at Jagti township under the chairmanship of its president, Desh Ratten Pandita.
The meeting while discussing migrants problems expressed concern over supply of impure drinking water to Jagti township since decades, slow work on installation of bore wells at Jagti township and enhancement of monthly cash relief for all relief holder’s.
The meeting alleged that Government has ignored displaced Pandits since last 36 years of their exile.
It demanded at least one job to one family and alleged that the Government and relief organization were directly involved in ignoring KPs and not taking any initiative in renovation of residential blocks at Jagti township and other camps.
It also alleged that no provision has been kept in budget for migrants, and there is total silence on part of Government over encroachment of migrants land in Kashmir.
The meeting demanded complete share from tourism industry.
Maintaining that KPs are stakeholders in Kashmir as well as UT demanded complete justice for those who became over aged during migration period.
The meeting said Jagti camp and other camps are the face of migration so all camps must work together to avoid outside agents.
The meeting demanded probe into funds meant for KPs and works executed so far. The meeting also demanded all arrangements be made in camps on the occasion of Mahashivratri
The meeting decided to frame a task force for immediate help to deserving migrants.
All Core Committee members participated in the meeting.
Besides Desh Rattan the other Core Committee members who attended the meeting included R L Sharma, R N Koul,Ramesh Tikoo, Sagar Koul, Vinoo Misri, Priya Dhar, O N Koul, Mela Misri, Braahmi Bhat, Anil Kumar Mehta, P N Jalali and Bimla Bhan.
