AIMCCC holds meet, discusses issues faced by KPs

JAMMU, Feb 9: To discuss the ongoing challenges faced by the Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community, a working committee meeting of the All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held here today.
The meeting was held under the leadership of its Chairman, B K Raina.
In his address, B K Raina emphasized the importance of rejecting false information and misleading statements that could destabilize the community.
He urged the migrants to disregard propaganda by individuals seeking leadership roles in the camps and causing division and stressed the need for unity and perseverance to overcome the struggles faced by the community.
The Chief of AIMCCC, Desh Ratten Pandita, also spoke about the organization’s efforts on the ground level to ensure the well-being of migrants.
He declared AIMCCC’s commitment to making the issues of Kashmiri Pandit migrants a national agenda, asserting that the community’s sacrifices in 1989-90 should be recognized, as they lost homes, properties, culture and their homeland.
“AIMCCC is working to create a political platform that will bring a clear, clean vision for the country and address the challenges faced by our community,” he said and called for the rejection of those mocking the community’s migration and for the coming together of like-minded individuals to strengthen the collective voice of Kashmiri Pandits.
In a significant development, the meeting decided to organize the annual Shivaratri Milan on a larger scale this year, inviting individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate and join the community in its efforts.
The organization also plans to compile a list of deserving families facing extreme difficulties and ensure they receive necessary support in the coming days.
The meeting was also addressed by Advisor, Daljeet Singh, who stressed the need for the organization to take a leading role in the political sphere of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by P N Jalali, Kulwant Singh, R N Koul, Anil Kumar Mehta, Sagar Koul, Bhimla Bhan, Raj Nath, Asha Koul, Mela Misri, Priya Dhar, Santosha Halli and Vinoo Misri.
