AIMCCC for representation to Pandits in Legislative bodies

JAMMU, Feb 25: All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) in a meeting at Anandnagar Bohri near here, today held under the leadership of M L Munshi its vice president expressed concern over apathy of Government towards the displaced Pandits from the Valley.
The meeting said that Kashmiri Pandits are sufferers since 1947 and successive governments at Centre and in the erstwhile State never showed any concern towards their issues with the result it became worst sufferer of terrorism and turmoil.
The meeting, while stressing the need for political empowerment of KPs demanded reservation of seats for it both in Assembly and Parliament so that the community can send its representatives in the representative bodies of the UT and country. The meeting demanded that the Delimitation Commission should take cognizance of the demands of the Pandit community in this regard and fulfill its aspirations by giving representation to it in the legislative bodies.
It demanded that the representatives of the community including AIMCCC be taken into consideration in this regard. It warned that in case the Government fails to redress the demand, the AIMCC will be forced to launch agitation. Those who attended the meeting included Vinod Kumar, Sanjay, Badrinath, Mohan Lal and Poshkar Nath.
