JAMMU, Nov 25: All India Migrant camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) has urged the Central and UT Governments to announce enhancement of monthly cash relief in favour of all migrant relief holders residing in different parts of country since mass exodus of 1989-90.
“We are neither beggars nor begging before Governments, but it is our Constitutional and moral right as our community has suffered a lot due to Pak sponsored terrorism faced death and destruction for being patriotic Indians,” said Desh Rattan president AIMCCC in a statement issued here, today.
He said the community lost all movable and immovable property which was either ransacked or razed to ground and fruit bearing and other trees were cut by the anti national and anti social elements. Besides, in maximum cases our agriculture and horticulture land as well as land of religious places was encroached upon which the successive governments failed to retrieve till date, he added.
B K Raina chairman of the organisation said the problems of displaced Hindus cropped up over the years and compounded day by day with Government least bothering to settle them. It is unfortunate that the successive Governments in J&K as well as Centre failed to rehabilitate the displaced Hindus back in their homeland during last 36 years or take measures in alleviating their sufferings.
He said it is unfortunate that the Governments at the helm of affairs are not even interested in listening the problems of the community people and they have totally ignored its plight. “We had lot of expectations from present dispensation at Centre but during last 11 years they did not even bother to meet the community representatives to discuss their sensitive issue and take measures for their rehabilitation in their homeland,” he added.
