JAMMU, Nov 9: A delegation of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) led by its president, Desh Rattan today called on Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas and submitted a memorandum to him regarding various problems of displaced Pandits.
The memorandum, while highlighting the plight of displaced Pandits from Valley said that the Kashmiri Pandits are worst sufferers of 30 year long turmoil who were forced to flee from the Valley by terrorists and separatists supported by Pakistan under a well hatched conspiracy.
It said the community which is temporarily residing in Jammu and other parts of the country in camps are facing various problems which needed immediate redressal.
It said that about 4000 families comprising of 16000 souls are putting up at Jagti Township and they are facing acute scarcity of drinking water. It demanded immediate construction of bore wells in the township to over come the problem.
The delegation also demanded transport facilities in the township as the matador services plying from Jammu to Jagti Township are very les, providing of dustbins in the camp besides proper drainage system be constructed in the camp to maintain sanitation, the over aged youth of the community be given soft loans so that they can earn their livelihood, removal of encroachments from migrants property as well as from their religious places in Valley made by some unscrupulous elements, issuance of Backward area certificates to migrants from Backward areas of Valley and promotion of displaced State Government employees besides, providing of all service benefits to them.
The other members of delegation included Bal Krishan Raina and M L Munshi, vice presidents of the organization, M M Kant, its general secretary, Chandera Dhar Vice chairperson of Ladies Wing, Geeta Kaul its vice president, Priya Dhar, cashier, Amit Bhat and Satish Saproo members of AIMCCC.
