JAMMU, Jan 21: All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) today urged Central and State Govt to constitute an Apex committee to solve rehabilitation and other issues of Kashmiri Pandits.
While releasing the special issue of Naad magazine, on the eve of 36th Exodus Day, AIKS president Ravinder Pandita, urged State and Central Govt to immediately form an apex committee to function and interact at state and centre regarding rehabilitation and relief of Kashmiri Pandit Community.
In this regard a delegation headed by AIKS president also met MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh and submitted a memorandum.
Speaking on the occasion, AIKS president reiterated that AIKS being the apex registered body of Kashmiri Pandits having affiliates pan India and abroad has to take the lead, in this direction.
The last apex committee constituted by State Govt was disbanded in 2014 and ever since then no such apex body has been constituted neither by State Govt or Central Govt.
Pandita has further demanded filling up of 2 Assembly seats reserved for displaced community at an earliest.
