JAMMU, June 5: Meeting of the Executive Committee of All India Kashmiri Pandit Conference (AIKPC), presided over by its president, H. N. Jattu was held here today in which prevailing political situation in the State was discussed threadbare.
The meeting also discussed the reports from MHA, GOI, that steps for evolving permanent resolution of the Kashmir issue will be ensured within a stipulated period of time in consultation with Kashmiri people.
Kuldeep Pandita, convenor, AIKPC, criticized the GOI in handling of sensitive Kashmir issue as also its failure in evolving a comprehensive policy for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants with dignity in the Valley.
He said track record of last 27 years reveals that thousands of migrant employees have attained retirement both in State as well as Centre departments but no concrete drive has been taken over these years to recruit the educated unemployed youth from the migrant community on these vacancies. The present dispensations, both in the Centre and the State have failed us miserably despite Government having high hopes and expectations for mitigation of our sufferings. He emphasized that GOI need to facilitate and involve Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims in dialogue process which is bound to dilute the hard line on the issue in the Valley.
