JAMMU, Oct 4: All India Backward Classes Union has asked the Central Government to conduct caste census for granting all due Constitutional rights to OBCs, SCs and STs.
In a statement, General Secretary of the Union, Prof Kali Dass said that despite the promises made for caste based census, no efforts were made in this regard by the previous as well as incumbent Government.
“Instead of initiating any step in this regard, BJP Govt opposed caste census many a times by approaching Supreme Court time and again,” he said and reiterated that deprivation on the name of castes, would have solution only by granting due share as per population of the particular caste.
“PM Modi got OBC votes by claiming himself as an OBC member but he did nothing for these communities. Instead of conducting caste census and giving due share in jobs, BJP Govt opened a new back door recruitment system through lateral entry and reducing jobs through privatization,” he alleged and warned that if no caste census is conducted, the BJP will face music in future.
