JAMMU, Nov 1: A meeting of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) held under the chairmanship of Abdul Majid Malik alleged that State coalition was non serious towards the OBCs as till date no concrete steps were taken by it in redressing their long pending demands.
He said during the Lok Sabha elections the BJP raised the Mandal Commission issue and now when it is the part of the government it should fulfill the same by granting 27 percent reservations to OBCs. Besides, the meeting demanded enhancement of creamy layer from Rs 4.5 lakh to six lakh which the Union Government has done already three years back, renewal of OBC certificates on basis of income certificates as the cast of a person does not change and issuance of OBC certificate instead of OSC.
Others who attended the meeting included Sandokh Chand, Rajinder Singh, Brij Mehra, Ramesh Tak, Darshan Kumar, Master Sain Das, Puran Chadgotra, Munshi Ram Bangotra, Prof Kali Dass etc.
