JAMMU, Sept 13: A delegation of All India Backward Classes Federation (AIBCF) here today met Raja Ram, MP and Coordinator BSP J&K while he was on a visit to Jammu.
The delegation was led by F.C Satia, AIBCF president who said that Article 370 has been abrogated from J&K so the reservation policy according to Mandal Commission Report is expected here but the same did not happened.
He also said that National Commission for Backward Classes has also not extended its jurisdiction to J&K.
Satia claimed that population of OBCs in J&K is 32 per cent and they are deprived of 27 per cent reservation since 1993.
The delegation asked the BSP leader to take the matter with Central Government in the upcoming session of the Parliament.
The MP assured the delegation that appropriate action on OBC issue shall be taken in the time to come.
A memorandum containing demands was presented by Satia to the MP.
S.R Majotra, BSP J&K President; Charanjeet Chargotra, BSP J&K Vice President; R.K Chalotra, Vice President AIBCF; Om Kataria and others were also present in the delegation.
