JAMMU, Mar 3: Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Jammu here today inaugurated Advanced Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Program (E-SDP) 2025 at its Jagti campus to equip researchers, industry professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs with advanced knowledge and hands-on expertise in cutting-edge technologies related to sensing, IoT and renewable energy.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Prof. Saroj Kumar Nayak from Odisha Hydrogen Valley Foundation, IIT Bhubaneswar and Prof. A.S.K Sinha, former Director Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology and a member of the Hydrogen Energy Committee, Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
They were joined by Prof. Kannan Iyer, Dean Academics, Dr. Vijay Pal, Programme Coordinator, Dr. Satya Sekhar Bhogilla, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Surjit Sahoo and other faculty members who shared their insights on the importance of research-driven advancements in sustainable energy solutions.
The first technical session was delivered by Prof. Saroj Kumar Nayak, who spoke on ‘Advanced Functional Materials for Energy Transition.’
Following this, Prof. A.S.K Sinha addressed the audience on ‘Sustainable Energy Resources: Scope for Research and Innovation.’
A handout stated that the Advanced E-SDP 2025 offers a unique blend of expert-led training, hands-on sessions and practical lab visits, giving participants a comprehensive understanding of real-world applications in sensing technologies, IoT and renewable energy systems.
Selected participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their innovations and receive feedback from industry leaders.
The Advanced E-SDP 2025 will continue till March 7, 2025 and all the selected participants will receive a training kit and certification upon successful completion.
