JAMMU, July 14: Advocate Maheshwar Singh Manhas, Provincial General Secretary of DPAP Jammu today addressed public meeting at Khajurian Mohalla (Ward No.59) of Jammu North Assembly segment.
Speaking on the occasion, Manhas appealed to the people to join hands with DPAP headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad (former CM of J&K) for the progress, peace and development of J&K and people. He said that short tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as CM of J&K is still being appreciated by the people and everyone must join hands under the banner of DPAP to get the Statehood restored.
He strongly criticized the recent Central Government notification whereby more powers have been delegated to the Lt Governor. “On the one hand Prime Minister is giving assurance for the restoration of the Statehood to the sensitive J&K and on the other hand more powers have been delegated to the Lt Governor”, he added.
Manhas further said that the present administration has miserably failed to address the problems of people. He also counted the achievements made by him in the area by providing drinking water, electricity, lanes, ration cards and other basic amenities. He assured the people that he will leave no stone unturned to get their problems solved.
The meeting was organised by youth leaders Akshay Tenotra, Rajeev Bhagat and Arjun Singh Chib. Prominent among others who were present include Pawan Kumar (Raju Mahajan) Block president Janipur Paloura, Madan Pal Singh, District Vice president Jammu Urban, Rajeshwar Singh, Block President Janipur Paloura and Davinder Khajuria, President DPAP Block Bhalwal.
