JAMMU, Aug 14: Agitated over denial of admission to the students in the city colleges under Cluster University, admission seekers held protest demonstrations, here today.
The aggrieved admission seekers, led by ABVP, also staged a dharna outside the Cluster University and raised slogans in support of their demand for admission to the students, who has passed out class 12th in annual or bi-annual exams.
Under the leadership of Vidash Dalmotra, ABVP joint secretary Jammu Mahanagar, also met the Cluster University Vice Chancellor and said that the future of thousands of students was at stake because of the mismanagement of the administration. ABVP also submitted memorandum demanding evening classes in the colleges to accommodate all the admission seekers.
The Vice Chancellor forwarded the memorandum to the Commissioner Secretary and assured that the action on the demands would taken be as soon as possible after discussing it with the higher authorities.
ABVP activists warned that if their demands are not fulfilled within two days, they would resort to indefinite dharna.
