JAMMU, Sept 23: A general body meeting of All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) was held under the leadership of its president PL Sudeshi at Durga Nagar today in which grave concern was expressed over Government’s criminal silence on the permanent rehabilitation of displaced Pandits.
It urged the Central Government to fulfill this main demand of displaced Pandits.
PN Raina general secretary of the Forum presented the agenda of meeting about problems the displaced community is facing and about elections of management body.
Forum also appealed the Government to enhance the cash assistance pending for a long time. It urged the State and Central Government for removing all illegally occupied property and encroachments of Pandits. Main stress was given on submitting KYC to the Relief Organisation in person for issuing ration cards which members said is practically non compliable in many cases for the reasons that the displaced families are scattered all over Globe and the process can easily be carried out in online mode more over digital Data of entire displaced community is already available with the Government therefore such requirements are nothing but to create confusion and continuous harassment among the community.
The meeting extended support to the ASKPC team and its mission working under the leadership of ML Malla.
Forum also supported the genuine and long pending demand regarding passage of Shrines and Temples Bill being pursued by Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust and appealed Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to issue an ordinance in this regard without further delay.
