ADKUF for rehabilitating KPs at single place in Valley

JAMMU, Oct 14: A meeting of the All Kashmiri Displaced United Forum (ADKUF) was held under the chairman D N Kissu. Expressing satisfaction over the Central Government’s announcements about rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley the chairman reiterated his appeal to the Government that the voice of Pandits about rehabilitating at a single place in Valley should be given a serious thought and the rehabilitation process should be started without further delay.
Media plays the most important part in encouraging communal harmony maintain heritage and culture all communities and sections of society but the Radio Kashmir and Kashir TV Channel being regional channels have almost neglected minorities KPs in particular and are used as mouth piece of a particular community. Hindi programs are rarely on air from both these media channels. Forum has noted the trend seriously and appeals the government to review their programs.
Appointment orders of selected candidates interviewed under PM’s Employment package more than two years back are still withheld. Forum requested the Government that these orders be issued without further delay and Overage Allowance should be sanctioned in favor of over aged un-employed KP youth.
Encroachment of Pandits property continues unabated and should be stopped effectively those involved in forcibly occupying immovable property of Pandits should be booked and given exemplary punishment. In villages such cases can effectively be dealt by Panchayats.
Land of owners who had applied decades back for restoring their half portion of cultivable land under agrarian act has still not been restored to them and a number of tillers are illegally cultivating crops on owners land also the practice must be stopped and the entire produce with penalty should be recovered from such illegal land grabbers.
Erratic and unscheduled water supply and power cuts particularly in and around Durga Nagar is a cause of concern and Forum requested concerned authorities that water should be supplied regularly following an area wise fixed time table besides there should be no power cuts.
Ration supply against cash payment to APL Ration Card holders have been stopped long back to migrants the ration supply should be restored at par on Valley pattern.
Besides, the chairman of the Forum chief Advisor Prof. G L Koul, president PL Sudeshi, president Women Wing, Phoola Koul general secretary, PN Raina, CL Zutshi, ML Koul and PL Razdan also spoke in the meeting.
