ADKUF convenes meet to bring Pandits on single platform

JAMMU, Dec 25: To further and expand the scope and purpose of brining displaced Kashmir Pandits on a single platform , a meeting was convened today which was presided over by T. K. Ganjoo of Sanskriti Bhawan at Roop Nagar in which a large group of Kashmiri Pandits participated.
In a handout issued by All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) a well defined and carved out agenda was already set earlier by “Group -33” (G-33) of displaced Pandits which inter-alia had decided to have included at least two representatives from each district of Kashmir to be added into the G-33 in order to make it broad based and have a representative character.
The release said it was decided that by roping in and utilising the services of representatives from each district, the move to have a single platform would get further strengthened and a suitable. The meeting was attended by well known social activists, academicians, scholars, socio-political activists and representatives from various KP social organisations.
Those who were present included Moti Lal Malla, Prof. A . N . Sadhu, Prof. Virendra Rawal, Dr. Rajiv Bhat, Dr. Ramesh Bhat, M . K. Yogi, Dr. Tej Krishen Bhat, Ajay Bharti (ex-MLC), Ashok Kangan, Hira Lal Bhat, Sundri Lal Koul, Dr. Susheel Wattal, Bimal Wantoo, A .K. Raina, Prof. G .L . Koul, Shiban Lal Bhat, J . L. Pandit, Ashok Dhar, Anil Bhan, A .K. Kaul, A .K. Bindroo, Kuldeep Kashmiri, Ravi Yogi, Saresh Khudda, Shoki Lidoo, P. K. Raina , Ashok Ji Bhat , Satish Raina, Dilip Ji, Maharaj .K. Mharaj , Chand Ji Kher, Ashok Ji Sathoo and others.
Speakers laid emphasis on the importance of having a single platform of the displaced Pandits to highlight aspirations and demands of the community which is languishing in a state of abject uncertainty for more than three decades. They cited various reasons, highlighted various instances of discrimination and neglect at the hands of the Government from time to time. It was decided that the initiative would be lent all support and strength of putting up the genuine issues of the displaced Pandits from the platform. The Group with added representation was empowered to devise ways and means of making all pronged efforts towards evolving of a single powerful united platform.
