JAMMU, June 21: Agricu-lture Displaced Employees Welfare Association (ADEWA) Day related to formation of the Association by the displaced Agriculture employees was observed here, today by migrant employees of Agriculture Department.
The Day assumes great significance for the displaced agri employees after their mass exodus from Valley and it was the genesis of a new era for the displaced KPs. In this connection a function was organized at Krishi Bhawan Talab Tillo and homage was paid to deceased employees who lost their lives due to militancy and during the period of migration.
Various issues pertaining to migrant employees were discussed particularly the cash in lieu. Those who addressed the function included Virender Chatta, Surindar Koul, Parven Kak, Naresh Raina etc. The vote of thanks was proposed by chairman, Pamposh Koul while proceedings were conducted by Rajinder Tickoo, general secretary of the Association.
