KARGIL, Jan 21: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations in Kargil.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer, PDD, Feroz Ahmad; Chief Education Officer, Kargil, Sonam Wangchuk; Executive Engineer, PHE, Sadiq Gul; Assistant Director, Tourism, Mohd. Ali Tak; Dy.SP DAR, Tundup Dorjay; Assistant Director, Information, Raza Ali Abidi; Accounts Officer to Deputy Commissioner, Zakir Hussain and representatives from the R&B Department, Traffic Police, I&FC, Youth Services & Sports, Cultural Academy, and the Mechanical Department.
The ADC conducted a detailed review of all necessary arrangements, including security, traffic management, seating arrangements, parking facilities, contingents, media coverage, venue decoration, cultural troupes and performances, refreshments, at-home celebrations and other related preparations.
Expressing satisfaction with the arrangements made so far, the ADC directed the concerned officials to expedite the remaining works to ensure smooth and hassle-free celebrations of the event.
Specific instructions were given keeping in view the prediction of snowfall before and on 26th January.
The ADC also assigned responsibilities to various officers, appointing them as nodal officers to oversee different arrangements.
