JAMMU, Oct 7: Alleging that officials of Rural Development Department (RDD) have provided wrong data of ST population in Block Satwari to keep the block reserved for ST women, Sarpanchs and Panchs of Satwari Block had demanded action of RDD officials.
Addressing a press conference at Gangyal, Sarpanchs and Panchs highly criticized the Rural Development Department Jammu for misguiding them by showing the wrong data of ST population in Block Satwari in the Notification Number 02 of 2019 dated 31.07.2019 which is presented in the print media dated 01.08.2019.
They said, “We personally approached the Director, Rural Development, Sudershan Kumar Verma and District Panchayat Officer, Suniana Saini for wrong publication of the ST women and total population of Block Satwari in print media but he just put us off by saying that he will see”.
“As per the actual record provided by the BDO Satwari, the population of ST is 16.57% but officials of Rural Development Department intentionally showed 23.80% ST population of the Block Satwari intentionally to keep this block reserved for the ST women which is a shear conspiracy hatched by the RDD,” they alleged and demanded an impartial inquiry against the erring officials.
Among others present in the press conference were Sarpanch Avtar Singh, Sarpanch Balvinder Singh, Sarpanch Kashmira Singh, Ex Sarpanch Shamsher Singh and Panch Ravinder Singh.
