JAMMU, May 29: Police in Jammu’s Bus Stand area have arrested an individual and recovered a stolen laptop from his possession within 24 hours.
On May 26, one Susheel Kumar son of Balbir Kumar of Dogra Hall, Jammu, reported theft of a laptop from his shop at Bus Stand area, a police official said.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 36/2025 under section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Bus Stand and investigated started.
During investigation, a team of Police Station Bus Stand led by Inspector Bikas Dogra, SHO Bus Stand, under the supervision of SP City North and SDPO City North, on May 27 arrested a suspect identified as Nikhel Goswami of Baba Basti, Gujjar Nagar, Jammu, at present Bari Brahamana, Samba.
During sustained interrogation, he said, the suspect confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen laptop worth around Rs 40000 was recovered from his possession and handed over to its rightful owner.
